I’ve often wondered how people can go into very very dangerous situations knowing that they could be killed, but go anyways.  Obviously this is an extreme example, but it is so difficult to be truly brave.

This quote can be applied to many situations in life, not just life or death struggles.  Knowing that whatever you are facing is scary – whether that means quiting a bad job, breaking up with someone, or taking a risk to start your own business.  Even though you won’t risk the possibility of dying, there are looming unknowns with each of these situations that can be scary.  And it is hard to ignore them and get in the saddle anyways.… Read the rest

Winston Churchill said these true words about persistence and optimism.  Everyone fails at some point or another in life, and it is the ones who can bounce back, and keep trying that are able to succeed in the end.  One of the most legendary baseball greats of all time, Babe Ruth, had more strikeouts than any other player in baseball.  But he also had the most homeruns.  If he had let all of the ‘failures’ he suffered detract him from trying to swing for the fences, he never would have been able to hit so many homeruns.
