Do What You Love Quotes

quote of do what you loveThe biggest mistake people make in life is not trying to make a living at doing what they most enjoy.” – Malcolm Forbes

Malcom Forbes, owner and publisher of Forbes magazine said these words in regards to the number of people he saw who did not have a job that they absolutely loved.  Of course you have to be somewhat practical in terms of making money, but I think what Forbes meant by this quote was that the majority of people don’t take enough risk when it comes to choosing a career.

Most people are very afraid of not having a job, even for a little while.  But if you can take the risk to try to make money on your passion, you will not regret it!  Whatever your passion, from cooking to gardening, to healthcare to fashion – there is always some opportunity for you to try to make money while doing it.  Even if you start small, and don’t expect to make a full time salary when you are starting out.  Maybe you have another part time job and devote 10 hours a week to making money on your passion.  Then when you are successful with that you can go up to 15 hours a week, then 20 and eventually you will have a job that you love and that can support you full time.

You spend so much time in your life doing a job.  You probably spend more time at work than you do with your family, so if you have a job that you don’t like, it won’t be very easy for you to be happy in other aspects of your life.  It won’t be easy for you to find a job you love (unless you are amongst the lucky few) but it is worth a try at the very least.  You have so much to gain by having a job you love, so if you are teetering on the edge and don’t know whether or not to go for it – then go for it!  You have so much to gain and you can always get another job that you don’t like :P
