A Best friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway.
– Elbert Hubbard
This quote is so true! I often think that despite all of my inadequacies and annoying habits, my friends still see around those things, to the good person that I hope to portray most of the time. And that makes me feel pretty special.
We all have our super annoying tendencies. One of my best friends talks about herself constantly, one is kind of passive aggressive and one is grumpy. But I love them all anyways! Despite these negative aspects of their personalities, they still manage to be very inspirational and kind friends. And they are always there for me when I need them.
The good thing about a best friend is that you can choose them. So if you really like that person, and want to have a close friendship with them, you will have to learn to love (or at least tolerate) all of their quirks as well – and sometimes that can be trying!
Sometimes you may have a very close friend who does something very hurtful towards you. This can be extremely painful, especially if you are close friends, but you can’t let it get in the way of your friendship. You have to talk to them about it and how it made you feel. If they are still cruel towards you, then you may have to walk away from the friendship and find a kindhearted friend instead. Friends shouldn’t make you feel bad, they should make you feel good, and make you want to spend time together.
I am very blessed in this life to have a handful of really good friends. Even if you only have one, it is a blessing. Even if you have none but are willing to try to make a friend and be a good friend that is a great start in the right direction. Friendships and family are one of the cornerstones of a happy and fulfilled life. So if you have a best friend who sees all of your bad stuff and loves you anyway, you should be grateful!
