~ Mark Twain
I love this quote by Mark Twain because it has happened to me so many times. How often have you told someone what you want to do and they have told you there’s no money in that or that you won’t like it, or that it is crazy? It happens to me all the time! At first I used to get quite upset and start telling myself maybe they are right, but after a while I began to understand that they really didn’t know what they were talking about at all, and were probably too afraid to follow their own dreams.
So the next time someone tells you that you won’t be able to achieve your dreams, or that you are silly for wanting to do this or that, remember what a small person they are being. They really shouldn’t be tearing down your dreams, it just reflects poorly on them and makes them a small person.
Of course our parents are always doing this, more because they are worried about us rather than they don’t want us to go after our dreams, but even so they rarely know what they are talking about
So only trust yourself and always go for it no matter what anyone says, because it is really not their life. You are the only one who can decide for you what is right and even if the person has your best interest at heart, they aren’t you and don’t know what you need to do.
Of course on the flip side of the coin, if you find someone who supports you and make you feel that you could be great – listen to them! They are right!
